Explanation : After the General Election of 1937 and the accession of the Congress to power in seven Provinces. Subash Chandra Bose was unanimously elected President of the Haripura Congress Session in 1938. In the presidential election to the Tripuri Congress in 1939, he was re-elected, defeating Dr Pattabhi Sitaramayya who had been backed by the Mahatma. He resigned in April 1939 and announced in May 1939 the formation of the Forward Bloc within the Congress. Rajendra Prasad was elected President in 1939 when Subhash Chandra Bose resigned from the post.
