Which chemical is used in voting ink

(A) Silver nitrate
(B) Silver bromide
(C) Silver chloride
(D) Silver sulphate

asked-questions
Correct Answer : Silver nitrate
Question Asked : Bihar Police Sub Inspector Prelims Exam 2018
The chemical used in voting inks is silver nitrate. Silver nitrate is preferred because it is soluble in water, and makes an inky black solution. When put on the skin, silver nitrate reacts with the salt present on it to form silver chloride. Silver chloride is not soluble in water, and clings to the skin. It cannot be washed off with soap, alcohol and water.
