Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was the first law minister of India. He became the law minister of the government of India in 1947. He took a leading role in preparing of the Indian constitution, outlawing discrimination against untouchables and skillfully helped to steer it through the assembly. In 1951, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar resigned because of disappointing at his lack of influence in the government.
