Prof. Dhondv Keshav Karve was an Indian Social reformer noted for supporting the cause of widow remarriage and women’s education. He founded widow remarriage association. In 1899 he opened a Widow’ Home in Poona with the object of giving high-caste widows an interest in life by providing them jobs and making them self supporting.
