The first Nawab of Awadh was Saadat Khan. Turanis established Hyderabad and Iranis establish Awadh. In 1722, Saadat Khan was appointed as the governor of Awadh where he governed through his heir nephew Safdarjung and played high politics in Awadh royal court. After his death, Safdarjung refused to give nominal loyalty to the Mughal emperor.
