Yarvada Central Jail is the largest jail in the state of Maharashtra. Mahatma Gandhi spent several years during India’s struggle for freedom. He named Yarvada Jail as Mandir. He wrote ‘Yerwada Mandir’ (Ashrama Observance) first published in 1932, translated from Gujarati, by Valji Govind Desai.
