The existence of Hindus tan Republican Association was diminished for some period due to the oppressions of the British Government upon the revolutionaries. Later Vijay Kumar Singh, Shiv Verma, Jai Dev Kapoor, Bhagat Singh, Bhagwati Charan Vohra and the Sukhdev under the leadership of Chandra Shekhar Azad reorganized the HRA on 7-8 August 1928 at Feroz Shah Kotla Delhi. They changed the name of HRA, and new organization HSRA (Hindustan Socialist Republican Association) came into existence.
