In March 1929, the government of Lord Erwin arrested 31 Labour leaders of the working class movement, and the 3 1/2 year trial resulted in the conviction of Mujaffar Ahmed, S.A. Dange, Joglekar, Philip Spratt, Ban Bradley, Shaukat Usmani and others. The trial got Worldwide publicity but weekend the working class movement. The trial drew sympathetic comments from prof.
