Correct Answer : Jawaharlal Nehru
Question Asked : UPPCS (Mains) 2013
Nehru’s ideas contained analysis and interpretation of socialism including Marxism. An interesting role in this connection was played by the Publicity Department of the United Provinces which depicted Nehru as a communist. This was done through a pamphlet entitled ‘Communistic likes and Dislikes.’ In this Nehru was described as a high priest of Communism in India. But it was a propaganda against Nehru. In fact the Government wanted to confuse the public about Nehru’s socialistic views. But the high ups in authority advised to stop such attempts and not to identify him with the Communists.
