Sarojini Naidu was the first woman governor of India. She became the governor of an Indian state on 15th August, 1947. She administered Uttar Pradesh from 15 August 1947 to 2 March 1949. The daughter of Sarojini Naidu (Padmaja Naidu) is the longest-serving governor with 11-year tenure in West Bengal. A governor is the constitutional body of each of the twenty-nine states of India.
