The first Mughal ruler was Babur. He started ruling over the throne of Farghana in 1494 at the age of twelve and faced a revolt. He conquered Samarkand later, only to lose the state of Fergana soon after. In 1504, he conquered Kabul. A rebel of the Lodhi dynasty Daulat Khan Lodi invited Babur to defeat Ibrahim in war and become ruler. Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi at the First Battle of Panipat in 1526 CE and founded the Mughal empire. Baburnama, the autobiography of Babur was written by Babur himself in 1524.
