The Chauri-Chaura episode took place on February 5, 1922 and after hearing of this incident, Gandhiji called up a meeting of Congress Working Committee on February 12, 1922 and passed a resolution, which is popularly known as Bardoli resolution, in which Gandhi announced the withdrawal of the Non-cooperation Movement. At the time of Chauri-Chaura incident, Gandhiji was at Bardoli (Gujarat), where he was preparing to start a Civil Disobedience Movement.
