The Nobel Prize in Medicine managed by the Nobel Foundation. It is presented annually for outstanding discoveries in the fields of life sciences and medicine. It is one of five Nobel awards started in his will in 1895 by Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel. Alfred Nobel was the inventor of dynamite. The Nobel award is given at an annual ceremony on 10 December, the anniversary of Nobel’s death, along with a diploma and a certificate for the monetary award. The recent Nobel award was declared by Karolinska Institute on October 1, 2018, and has been presented to American James P. Allison and Japanese Tasuku Honjo – for their discovery of cancer therapy by inhibition of negative immune regulation. A Medicine Nobel Prize receives a gold medal, a diploma bearing a citation and a sum of money. These are presented during the award function at the Stockholm Concert Hall. Alfred Nobel born on 21 October 1833 in Stockholm, Sweden, into a family of engineers. He was an engineer, chemist and inventor who amassed a fortune during his lifetime, most of it from his 355 inventions of which dynamite is the most famous.
