In India, 'White Revolution' in milk production sector, was started with the establishment of 'National Dairy Development Board-NDDB', Anand (Gujarat) in the year 1970. The 'Father of Milk/White Revolution' was Dr. Verghese Kurien, also known as 'Milk Man of India', born-on 26 November 1921 in Kozhikode (Kerala), death-on 9 September 2012 (at 90 years age); started 'Operation Flood' (3-stages 1st in 1980 & IIIrd upto 1994); Served 33 years w.e.f. 1965 to 1998-as Vibhushan; Padma Shree; Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership, World Food Prize etc.
