Abu Dhabi includes Hindi as third official Court Language

Abu Dhabi has included Hindi as the third official court language to improve access to justice. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) on February 9, 2019 said it has extended the adoption of interactive forms of statement of claims filed before courts by including Hindi alongside Arabic and English in’ labour cases. According to official figures, the Indian community constitutes 30% of the population and is the largest expatriate community in the United Arab Emirates. The move is aimed at helping Hindi speakers to learn about litigation procedures, their rights and duties without a language barrier, in addition to facilitating registration procedures via unified forms available through the ADJD website.

According to official figures the Indian commuinty in the UAE, numbering 2.6 million, constitutes 30% of the total population and is the largest expatriate community in the country.

The measure of the UAE government speaks volumes of the deepening of India-UAE relations and amply demonstrates the warmth the rulers have towards India. It is certainly an epoch making development in the gradually but surely expanding relationship between India and its friendly Muslim country in the middle east. Indian minister of external affairs extended thanks to Abu Dhabi for this gesture of their government. According to official figures, the UAE population is estimated to be around nine million of which 2/3rd are immigrants from foreign countries.
