52nd Annual Grammy Awards Indian Composer and Oscar winner
A.
R. Rahman scored a double triumph at the 52nd Grammy Awards
in Los Angeles on January 31, 2010, scooping two early
honours for his music from Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog
Millionaire’. Rahman won
the first Grammy of the pre-show at the Staples Center, in
the best compilation soundtrack for a motion picture
category before his ‘Jai Ho’ won in the best motion picture
song
category moments later. “This is insane, God is great
again,” Rahman said as he accepted his second award before a
VIP audience.
Beyonce became the most decorated woman on a Grammy night as
she collected six trophies, including Song of the Year
for her anthem Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), but
it was another diva—Taylor Swift —who nabbed the top honour,
Album Of the Year, for her best-selling Fearless. Taylor Swift won a total of four awards.
